About Abhishek Thakur
I'm Abhishek Thakur (full name Abhishek Thakur Barhi), a Software Engineer and Full Stack Developer from Lahan, Siraha, in Madhesh Province, Nepal. I design and build web applications, custom software and APIs with Python, Django, React and PostgreSQL.
What I do
I take products from a rough idea to a reliable, working experience. On a typical project I might design the database schema, build the Django backend and REST API, develop the React frontend, and handle deployment. I care about software that stays maintainable long after launch, not just demos that look good on day one.

Where I'm from
I grew up in Lahan, one of the main towns of Siraha district in Madhesh Province, southeastern Nepal, and completed my +2 in Science at Little Star Higher Secondary English School there. Being from a growing commercial town like Lahan shaped how I think about software: I like building things that ordinary people and small businesses can actually use. Today I work with clients in Lahan, Siraha and across Nepal, including Kathmandu, and remotely with teams anywhere.
Background
I'm completing a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at Parul University (2022–2026), where my coursework covers software engineering, data structures, databases, web development and machine learning fundamentals. Alongside my degree I've completed two internships: a Full Stack Developer internship at Unified Mentor, where I built AI Web Doctor with React, Django and PostgreSQL, and a Web Development internship at Prodigy InfoTech.

Selected work

How I work
I start with what the product needs to do for real users, keep the scope honest, and build in small verifiable steps. I prefer clear communication over jargon, and I'd rather tell you when something won't work than promise it anyway. If you have a project in mind, tell me about it.
